Convivio was founded by owner/operator Andrea Melani. Andrea, originally from Italy, grew up helping his parents run their family restaurants. Once he moved to America, he naturally gravitated toward the restaurant business, where he continued to foster the skills and passion for the industry. 10 years ago, Andrea opened his first Convivio location in Carmel. Convivio, at the time, was the first business in the greater Indianapolis area to make fresh pasta. This ancient tradition really is the centerpiece of the Convivio brand. Along with our artisanal pasta, we offer a variety of pizzas, antipasti, main entrées, desserts, and a well-curated wine list highlighting Italy's many regions. We also highlight the various regions in Italy as each offers a different take on the cuisine. Similar to America, which has "southern cooking," Italy boasts various regions with unique ingredients that influence the cuisine of that particular area. For this reason, we change our menu a few times a year with the intent to keep our guests eager, curious, and excited for more. We believe food truly brings everyone together, which is the essence of conviviality. In the context of food, conviviality emphasizes the joy and pleasure of eating together, fostering a sense of community and connection.
